Caliente Contest
The undisputed king of electric
blues is scheduled to play to a
packed audience Friday night at
Centennial Hall.

BB King is one of the most well-
known living blues musicians in
the world, and certainly the most
famous person to ever come out
of the tiny town of Itta Bena,
Miss.

The 2000 census pegged Itta
Bena's population at about 4,000
residents living within a 1.5
square mile area.

Yet the town still managed to
make it into the 2000 Coen
brothers film, "O Brother, Where
Art Thou?"

In the movie, a notorious
gangster terrorizing the the
Deep South stops George
Clooney's character Everett and
his crew and asks them how to
get to Itta Bena.

Name the gangster and the
actor who played him for a
chance to win a set of three
cookbooks.

Test your bravery at scary Halloween happenings

By Veronica M. Cruz
For the arizona daily star
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 10.15.2009
It's time to get into the Halloween spirit before the spirits get you.
You and your favorite werewolves, vamps, witches and warlocks can scare up some good times at these supernatural events brewing around town:
"Phobia," presented by the Tucson Screamers
What's your greatest fear? Snakes? Spiders? Killer clowns?
The Tucson Screamers have you covered at "Phobia" — their newest haunt. From high-tech scares to people jumping out at you, the Screamers assure that you "won't just face your fears; you'll run from them."
The Screamers have brought back the popular insane-asylum haunt and voodoo haunt, adding surprises so scary and secret that we can't talk about them.
What we can tell you is that grown men have been known to wet their pants, and 20 percent of people who enter never make it all the way through.
There's also a non-frightening 3-D maze for the weak-bladdered adults and little boys and ghouls.
• Where: Foothills Mall (in the old Linens 'n Things location), 7401 N. La Cholla Blvd.
• Hours: 6-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; 5-9 p.m. Sundays; 6-10 p.m. Oct. 26-29; 6-11 p.m. Oct. 30; noon to midnight on Halloween.
• Cost: $10 for one haunted house, $20 for both haunts and $30 for VIP tickets (both haunts, 3-D maze, $10 in arcade coupons and front-of-the-line access)
