Miss.

The 2000 census pegged Itta
Bena's population at about 4,000
residents living within a 1.5
square mile area.

Yet the town still managed to
make it into the 2000 Coen
brothers film, "O Brother, Where
Art Thou?"

In the movie, a notorious
gangster terrorizing the the
Deep South stops George
Clooney's character Everett and
his crew and asks them how to
get to Itta Bena.

Remote Controlled : Tucson-linked family to hit the road in NBC reality series

A Houston family with ties to Tucson will appear on the new NBC reality competition, "Great American Road Trip," this week.
Erica and Ricardo Rico, and their kids, Ricky and Danielle, were chosen from more than 2,000 applicants to appear on the series that pits seven RV-driving families against one another as they make their way through challenges across the country.
Erica Rico, 31, was born in Tucson and grew up in Barrio Hollywood. She worked as a DJ for Mega 106.3-FM before moving to Texas four years ago. Ricardo was also at 106.3, but was better known as "Chico," one of the hosts of the short-lived Hot 98.3 (98.3-FM) morning show "The Mexicanz."
The Ricos moved to Houston after Ricardo, 35, was offered a show there. The family makes frequent trips back to Tucson.
"Half of Tucson is related to me," Erica said.
You won't see them shuttling up Interstate 10 on the series. The competition follows historic Route 66, which means viewers might see Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon, but no Mount Lemmon or Mission San Xavier del Bac.
"Great American Road Trip" debuts on KVOA at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Beck now at 790-AM
Glenn Beck fans who listened to the political talk-show host on KCUB (1290-AM) will be happy to know that he isn't gone.
As of last Monday, the popular radio personality's syndicated show has moved to Clear Channel Radio's NewsTalk station, KNST (790-AM). Beck's transition puts him on the same frequency as fellow powerhouse talk-radio hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.
Beck airs 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays.
Help for the jobless
In other Clear Channel news, the media giant is using its seven local radio stations, including KRQQ (93.7-FM), Hot 98.3 (98.3-FM) and Tejano 1600 (1600-AM), to help some of Tucson's unemployed masses.
In this new initiative, each station will invite five job seekers a week to record 30-second spots highlighting their personal information and qualifications. Those spots will then play over the air. Applicants will also get to post their full résumés on the stations' Web sites.
