Thirty-four bands representing 16 schools entered to become the champ of the Arizona Daily Star's 2009 Battle of the Bands.
Our soon-to-be-revealed judges — musicians and those close to the local music scene — will now begin listening to and rating the entries.
Six finalists will be announced in December and play at Battle of the Bands at the Rialto Theatre on Feb. 20.
Below are the names of the challengers, one of which will win a boatload of prizes and a recording session on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.
