Last week, Michael Jackson, "The
King of Pop," died after suffering
cardiac arrest. He was 50, and
preparing start a series of
comeback concerts.

Jackson's musical
accomplishments were many,
including the hits "Bad," "Billie
Jean," "Thriller" and "Shake Your
Body (Down to the Ground)." His
1982 album "Thriller" is the
best-selling album of all time.

He collaborated with Paul
McCartney, Quincey Jones, and
his sister, Janet Jackson.

He invented the moonwalk.

And while his behavior later in life
was bizarre, we prefer to focus
on the positives, like Jackson's
music, and his charity work.

In one instance, the two
overlapped. Jackson co-wrote the
charity single "We Are the
World," which was released
worldwide to aid the poor in
Africa and the United States.

Tell us who co-wrote the song for
a chance to win an audio book.

Tons of local bands to play

It's not always the case, but it's oddly comforting to see Fall Club Crawl on the menu this weekend.
The U.S. economy is roaring down I-10 bound for hell faster than AC/DC's Bon Scott. We're in the middle of a throat-squeezing election that will determine the future of our country. And if you try to escape any of it, your debit card will be bled dry at the gas station.
So, everyone, let's give it up for Fall Club Crawl!
It may not be the greatest music festival ever: You may get cold beer spilled down your shirt from some dude with a barbed-wire tattoo, but darned if it shouldn't help us forget our problems for a few hours.
Essentially every local band you've ever heard of will be on the lineup Saturday, plus a handful of out-of-town acts and a Chicago-based 30-piece marching band, Mucca Pazza, that performs punk originals and covers.
Mucca Pazza, which has performed at Lollapalooza and on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," originally started out as an anti-war marching band around 2003 and is led by composer and band leader Mark Messing, according to the Chicago Reader.
The group eventually renamed itself, started doing regular performances around Chicago and has a reputation for interactivity in concert.
Mucca Pazza performs "everything from Gainesbourg to Le Tigre," says a press release, and will lead a procession on East Congress Street into the Rialto Theatre for its midnight set.
The Rialto is just one of many stages in the Downtown and North Fourth Avenue area that will host live music from early evening until just before last call Saturday night.
Here's the schedule, subject to change. While we haven't seen every act on the bill, the asterisk denotes artists we recommend.
